In June 2011, Roland released firmware version 2.0 for TD-9. Each TD-9 module can be upgraded to a new version.
What's New in Version 2.0:
30 new Kick and Snare instruments, enlarged internal sound bank from 522 to 552
40 additional sets, increasing the internal memory of sets from 50 to 99.
Note: In version 2.0, sets 1-40 are all new factory sets and 41-91 sets are factory-built with TD-9 version 1.0.
Sets 92-99 are called "User Kit". Although these sets are defined as user sets,

Added MP3 playback (using USB flash drive) capability for already available WAV playback features in the original TD-9.
