Autofocus does not focus on the wider zoom end on distant objects so it would require some adjustments and possibly service. Apart from that it focuses on everything as it should.
The focus adjustment switch on this lens is broken. It happened last week when I tried different settings. The screw has probably loosened up during years of use and eventually it went. I stuffed a piece of rolled paper to keep it as it was because it switched back to middle setting. If someone is good with super glue and watch fixing it would be probably very easy job to fix it.
The rubber grip on zoom ring is loose but that could be easily dealt with.
It would possibly benefit with some maintenance and tightening up some screws inside as some of them become loose over time what is common with this model.
Apart from these imperfections overall the lens is in very good condition, front and rear element look to be perfect, just one tiny blemish on the front. There are some dust specs inside but this is normal for zoom lens. This does not affect images.
Summarising the lens works as it is and can produce fantastic images, however, requires some attention and right hands could bring it back to former glory.
