Notes: You are bidding on Vintage Gold-Plated Rectangular Universal Geneve Cal. 75 Uniquartz Watch. I'm not sure how to date this watch but it is likley from the mid-late 70s to early 80s. Inside is a 7 Jewel UG Caliber 75 quartz movement - likely early in-house movement, as the White Shadow Quartz had the rare Caliber 74. The 20 micron gold plated case is in very good shape, a light scratch on the left side is barely noticeable. The rectangular glass crystal is pristine, free of chips/scratches. The unique and stunning brown starburst dial compliments the gold hand and hour markers well; some aging noted on the hands; really in great shape for a vintage. Minimal wear on the gold plated "U" signed crown; quickset date and hand change without issues. The stainless steel caseback does have some scratches but caseback markings are well visualized. The movement looks clean, and the watch keeps good time. A soft 19mm unused black leather strap snugly fits in the 18mm lugs. No box/paper/tags. These watches represent a important moment in Swiss manufacturing history as Universal Geneve needed to respond to the quartz crisis. They developed a few quartz watches that are lesser know today. This rare Uniquartz shares nearly the same case an earlier Cal. 1-69 microrotor watch from Universal Geneve - with their early quartz watches you get the same build quality and design as their automatics!
