Hardy to half
hardy perennial (forms bulbs)
A graceful
summer flowering plant with aniseed scented leaves and scented yellow
lantern-shaped flowers in mid-summer from June to August. Plants come originally from the Drakensberg Mountains
in South Africa and look good planted in groups in a rockery or gravel garden
and in pots, growing to a height of 40cm.
Albuca shawii
prefers a warm sheltered position and well-drained gritty soil. In colder gardens in the UK, the bulbs
should be lifted in autumn and replanted in spring.
Sow in spring
to autumn in small pots of compost, keep at 20°C and seeds germinate within a
few weeks, sometimes up to two months.

European Union. I do not generally send seeds outside the European
Union or Western Europe. I can send first class or by other methods
