Each Coconut hide we sell is unique as each one is hand made to order. So please expect some slight variation (usually a few millimetres) in size.
Each shell is on average 80 - 100mm wide and 100 - 125mm tall. Entrances are sanded with high grade sandpaper to ensure edges are not sharp, thus preventing injury to your fishes delicate fins.

The opening hole size can be chosen from the following:
30 millimetres
40 millimetres (if you do not specify a hole size, this the default I use)

I also offer more customisations, please message me with your ideas and we can discuss further! Also note that hole and coconut sizes will vary a little due to the shape and size of each individual coconut. We may also alter each design to fit the coconut we are working with.
As with all wood that you place into your aquarium, you may want to soak the coconut hide in warm water (not hot as it may crack the wood) for a day or two to release any remaining tannins, which will give water a slightly golden hue (most fish actually enjoy the tannins, so feel free to skip that step if you want!). Each shell has been baked at a high temperature, is pathogen free and will sink when placed into your aquarium (its a hard dense wood). Note that it may take a day or two between your order being placed and your order being shipped, this is due to us making your hide to order!
