As a collector, I know the frustration and countless hours required for tracking down missing pony items/accessories. Therefore, I am putting a vast listing of vintage G1 pony items up for sale to help other collectors find needed items. G1 "My Little Pony" item identification is a very challenging task. Item information is formed on extensive research, compared against different resources, and believed to be extremely accurate.

Items are cleaned and prepared for their new home in an effort to restore items as close to original condition as possible. My home is non-smoking and free from cats and dogs. We do have sanctuary guinea pigs from a local animal rescue. Despite my best efforts a small hay piece or piggy fur might find its way to you.

How is brush/comb identification made?

1.       Ponies in original packaging (MOC/MIB/MIP-mint on card, mint in box, mint in packaging) is the definitive identification factor. Extensive photo research has taken place whenever possible to determine the hair brush/comb that accompanied a pony.

2.       Comparison against similar My Little Pony brush/comb(s) from my vast collection. Having colors so close in hue makes identification extremely difficult. Often, only by having several similar color accessories can the colors be identified. For example, the blue duck comb can be describe as being aqua with five different variations, aqua dark-greener and aqua light-bluer being options.

3.       Online My Little Pony collector guides. I have found three excellent internet pony accessory guides which help guide my internet research. All three have done a profoundly amazing job with an extremely difficult task. Though these guides are invaluable, they are often updated as more definitive information is found. One guide has been found to be correct about 50%, another about 90%, and the third about 95%. Original packaging photos are always a more definitive information source.

4.       Using white light and comparative light techniques and methods.

5.       When sufficient information is unavailable, a consensus by the online pony community may guide an identification. This happens most often with brushes/combs from pony playsets and/or international ponies which do not lend themselves to mint in original packaging photos.
