DESCRIPTION

 Whilst Bobby Rydell had already achieved considerable pop success by 1961, including four Top Ten hits, like many artists of the time he realised that the real key to continued success was diversity.  Since his pop fans would grow up and perhaps out of his sound, it made sense to look for a new audience - the MOR one.  The Great Ones finds Bobby tackling some of the great songs of the current and earlier eras, most notably That Old Black Magic and April Showers.
