Ford Pantera de Tomaso Hong Kong № 909  inertia 1973

"De Tomaso" (De Tomaso Modena S. p. A.), an Italian company specializing in the production of sports cars. The headquarters is in Modena.
The founder of the company, the Argentine racer Alejandro de Tomaso, built his first race car in 1958
The company "De Tomaso Automobiles" (De Tomaso Automobili) began its activity in October 1959, building cars "Formula-Junior" and "Formula-2". The first sports car, intended for mass production, was introduced only in 1965.

De Tomaso

De Tomaso worked closely with Ford from 1965 until early 1975. Later, De Tomaso S.p.A. Innocenti (Innocenti), which also included Maserati ("Maserati"), entered.
Ambition and golden hands drove the former rider far: he planned to bypass Enzo Ferrari himself! To achieve this great goal, De Tomaso entices former employees of "Ferrari". Jean Paolo Dallara (Giampaolo Dallara) joined the company from "Lamborghini" in 1968. Then De Tomaso buys "Ghia", and along with it she gets a diamond of the purest water - Tom Jard, chief designer of "Ghia". Finally, in 1970, he managed to get Nello Ugolini, who took a direct part in the design of the "Pantera". Having created the car "Mangusta" in the mid-sixties, De Tomaso made the first serious bid for success. These cars were produced about four hundred - for those times, an impressive figure for the manufacturer of luxury cars, and the installation of two cars
Five years later, De Tomaso Automobili organized a joint venture with Ford concern, which was engaged in the production of the Pantera model, which stayed on the market until 1990.

By 1971, when "DeTomaso Pantera" was introduced, De Tomaso had already outlined the model model concept of "DeTomaso Automobili". "Ghia" was purchased to design and hone the design of two new cars: "Deauville", a four-door sedan, and "Longchamp", a two-seater two-door
DeTomaso Pantera is the most remarkable car of De Tomaso. The legendary "Pantera" is still produced by the company. It is with this model that many associate the brand "DeTomaso" and it is she who firmly established the reputation of the company as one of the best manufacturers of GT cars. In the development of "Pantera", three independent stages can be traced: Ford's (from 1971 to 1974), post-Ford (from 1975 to 1990) and the final chord, which was sounded in 1991, and it was these latter "Pantera" that differed significantly from their counterparts. The latest version of "Pantera" was released in 1996, completing the almost 25-year history of continuous production of this model
