Amiga-T5 Retro Tower System
This is the 1st Generation Amiga T5, Retro Tower System, the long awaited A500 tower system. The T5 has the Amiga 1987/88 Rev 5 OCS board fitted NO RTC and only 1MB chip ram. It also has 4MB Fast Ram installed and 1GB solid state HDD with OS3.1. There are also many Amiga games and utility programs installed, along with an unregistered version of WHDLoad which works, just displays a lag screen wen loading games. Free complete versions are available to download on-line.
Benefits of Amiga-T5 RTS over original Commodore all in one wedge design: Lots of space for upgrades, no more unscrewing everything to get to the internals of the Amiga. Just unscrew to quick release bolts and the side panel can easily be removed. The clear side allows you to admire and keep an eye on all the lovely upgrades. Amazing cooling system so no more overheating problems. Coupled with the massive 500w ATX PSU means the T5 RTS has more than enough power for whatever future upgrades are added. With more and more modern upgrades being designed for the retro Amiga computers, it only makes sense to either buy or upgrade to an Amiga-T5 RTS unit! **The T5 Plus Computer has the kipper2k 504IDE board installed**
Also GREEN cooling Fans are fitted NOT Blue/White like picture shows.
The computer has had the cables all pro installed so no clutter. Cleaner air flow and pleasing looks through the clear side widow panel. It has the 512KB memory unit fitted, this shows in the fast ram location but is actually slow ram. The chip ram still shows as 512KB. Total ram is 1MB and 5MB including Fast Ram. This is how all A500's control ram. The system is really unique and one of the best Retro builds to date. The installed OS3.1 is still running as standard to keep processing speed to maximum, so no super icons are installed. Just a small square to access games. This is a 16Bit computer NOT 32Bit so OCS cannot handle the later OS like AGA.
The computer has full wireless keyboard control for less cables and is supplied with keyboard. It also has 3.1 ROM fitted and has USB to DE9 converter with USB optical gamer mouse for precision control over pointer.lots of Amiga Video Games have been installed along with WHDLoad and utility programs like Dopus and SYSINFO etc.
WHDLoad not registered but still works, just displays a lag screen before loading game. Free versions available to download on-line.
The picture of the Zorro II port shows that the system has been designed to allow for a right angle adapter to be fitted. This shall then allow the user to use this port again. Currently in the process of manufacturing these adapters and they should be available to buy later this year.
Please Note:
Modifications had to be made to both the 3.1 Rom chip and the A500 logic board, in order for this Revision 5 to accept 3.1 Rom. This means that this Amiga 500 cannot accept any other ROM chip, unless the modification to the logic board is removed. So explains the mods to both ROM and Board, should you see it and wonder what it is.
