These sparkling verses by Shamus A'Rabbitt, carry the atmosphere and preserve the legend of the China Coast. This collection is culled from a series that began a decade or more ago in the columns of the South China Morning Post, The China Mail, and The Japan Times. They were written for the amusement of the author's friends and for relaxation from his work as government adviser. 

To all who have tasted the joys of life and travel in the East, they will serve as a savory reminder, with the pungent flavor of the Orient.

Hardback is overall in GOOD condition.

  • Yellow and red cloth covers show commensurate wear and dirt. 
  • Boards are slightly warped and exhibit prominent soiling to the red portion of the cloth with heavier soiling to the yellow portion along the shoulder and the spine. Please see photos. 
  • Corners are gently bumped with exposed board to the rear top left. Please see photos. 
  • Spine is darkened with soiling and has inked lettering accompanied by design detail and exhibits wear to the softened ends. 
  • Binding exhibits some play through is secure overall; gutters are lightly cracked in a few places. Please see photos. 
  • Illustrated endpapers are gently darkened with faint soiling, most notably along the top edge of the rear endpage and pastedown. 
  • Faint creases to the top right corners of the interior. 
  • Interior is age toned and exhibits signs of age and wear. 
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Text block exhibits play. 
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
