• Firmware OS v2.0 is the latest and final operating system issued by Akai for the S3200XL series sampler.
• Included will be 1 new EPROM chip, which will be labeled accordingly to indicate which IC socket the EPROM is to be installed to.
• This upgrade will only function in the S3200XL, not the S32000 (non XL series)

Please note that the S3200XL itself not for sale. Only the EPROM upgrade chip will be supplied.

• The OS v2.0 upgrade primarily focuses on resolving issues caused by Akai’s previously poor non-compliant implementation of the SCSI protocol in its system code. This is especially important for users out there that wish to use their S3200XL with MESA II as well as Recycle 2.0.
• The upgrade KIT in this eBay listing is only compatible with the S3200XL and not with the S3200 non-XL series of samplers. If you need an upgrade for the S3200, drop me a line or have a look at my other eBay listing, thanks!

Please note: If you happen to have the “SCSI Waiting” message when you turn on your S3200XL, it means the SCSI fuse is blown.  I have re-settable fuses (fuses that never blow) for sale in another listing. Unsure / confused? Send me a message.

Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.

All EPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment and will be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
