  • Tapered guide penetrates the toughest tangles

Grooming guide

Always keep Matt Splitter level with the skin to avoid digging in (fig.1) Keep Matt Splitter upright and at right angles to the skin – avoid having it at a slant (fig.2).

Avoid using the Matt Splitter on sensitive areas where there is loose or folded skin. Never lift the skin into a “peak” (fig.3) when cutting as this can result in serious injury. If in doubt use clippers or scissors with care. If your pet is extensively matted seek professional help.

When you have finished your grooming session, dont forget to spray your pet's coat with Mikki Anti-Tangle Spray.  This will keep your pet's coat in good condition and help make any tangles easier to comb out in the future.

Important: Keep out of reach of children. Use extra care when using any grooming aid with sharp edges.

  • The precision cutting blades allows you to cut in one smooth action
  • The blades are heat treated to make them long lasting & durable
Your pet's claw has blood vessels known as the 'quick'. It is important that you do not cut into this area. It is easy to locate the quick on animals with light coloured claws.

For those with dark coloured claws it may be easier to locate the quick by looking on the underside of the nail - however if in doubt seek the advice of your vet or pet groomer.

Hold your pet's foot carefully and ensure that you are in complete control before starting to trim the nail. Begin cutting in one smooth action. If you are unsure, only cut off a small amount at a time.

Keeping your pet's nails trimmed is essential for good care and grooming.  If you pet is particularly nervous or dislikes having their claws clipped, try using a Mikki Nail File.

Important: Keep out of reach of children. Use extra care when using any grooming aid with sharp edges.
