Lips serves as Microsoft's in-house entrée into the world of karaoke-style singing games, letting players sing along to 40 songs spread across a variety of musical genres. Gamers can also download new songs from Xbox Live, and Lips even lets players sing along to music from their own collection, though MP3 tracks are subject to digital rights management issues, CD tracks require a hard drive, and neither will display the song lyrics. The game comes packaged with two wireless motion-sensing microphones, so two players can join in a duet, or one player can sing while the other treats the microphone as tambourine, cowbell, or other percussion instrument. In addition, up to four more players can use traditional Xbox 360 Controllers to serve as backup percussionists. |
