Loetz 1898 Jugendstil Art Nouveau "Candia Papillon" Ruby & Gold Pinched Art Glass Vase

For your consideration is a fine antique Bohemian art glass vase dating to the late 19th century. A creation by Loetz Klostermuehle of Austria, this lovely piece features a red and gold oil spot decor, known in Loetz terminology as "Candia Papillon", a well documented decor on the Loetz website. This vessel has a a gorgeous iridescent finish, pinched body and fire-polished rim. The quality of this glass is comparable to L.C.T. Tiffany, Favrille and Steuben Glass of New York, all competitors at the turn of the century. The vase is considered to be in overall excellent condition, as there are no cracks, chips or repairs. There is a small sand deposit located just inside the vase from the manufacturing process. The vase measures approximately 4.75" tall.
