For sale is a rare silver 300 Reis coin minted in Diu in the Portuguese India in 1859.

The Portuguese India Diu coins are rare because the tiny town minted cons is very low quantities. In addition most of the coins are crudely minted - this one is an outstanding exception for the type.

The coin has nice original surfaces and has been graded MS63 by NGC. It is very well centered and strongly struck for the type.

Krause lists this coin as KM-61 and the price for VF20 is $950 (highest grade listed in Krause). This example is an MS63 coin!
