This item has been re-listed.

Due to an increase in unpaid items and cancellations, we are now enforcing eBay’s “Unpaid Item” policy. Their policy states, “If you've placed a winning bid or clicked the Buy It Now button in a listing, you've committed to purchasing that item. If you don't pay for it, even if you've changed your mind, you violate the unpaid item policy.” If you choose to not pay for, or cancel, an item, we will open an unpaid item case against you and work with eBay to have your buying privileges revoked. We are a small business and it is unfair for us to suffer losses each week due to customers changing their minds or not reading the full description of an item. Before bidding, please make sure you have read through the listing, considered any shipping or import/duty charges, and are willing to pay your high bid. Thank you for your understanding!

The ring is made out of solid 10k Yellow gold, the lower purity of the gold allows for the band to take some wear and tear on a Men's finger and not get bent out of shape. It is Platinum topped around the Ruby to accent the center beautiful stone. The center stone is a lab grown Corundum Ruby. It features a beautiful pink to reddish hue throughout the stone and is cut in the Old European form. The sparkle from this beautiful stone really grabs the eye. The band of the ring includes a classic Geometric riveted pattern down the shoulders. Please don't miss your chance to own this very special part of history.

Damage: Age appropriate wear. The stone has a couple of very small flea bites to the facets. This does not take way from it's value.

The History

The Art Deco era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Jewelry from this period was most often crafted between 1920 and 1940. Art Deco jewelry sometimes featured white gold or platinum, geometric designs, European cut diamonds, filigree, and calibre cut stones that are specifically cut to fit the design of the piece. During the Art Deco period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.

Rubies are one of the four precious gemstones, and are prized for their pink to blood red colors. The most valued hue of ruby is called blood-red, or pigeon blood, for the bright, rich hue it exhibits. The color of a ruby comes from the element chromium. Rubies have adorned royal and religious jewelry for centuries, and were especially esteemed in Asian countries like China and India, where they were thought to bring good fortune. Rubies are graded by color, clarity, cut, and carat. Rubies are often also evaluated on the basis of their geographic origin.
