This Museum Piece is a True Rarity


The Fostoria Glass Company was incorporated July, 1887 in Fostoria Ohio then later moved to West Virginia.  Fostoria’s first products were kerosene lamps and lamp parts, but the company’s line soon expanded to include tableware, colognes, stationers' glassware, and candelabra, as one of its early 1900's advertisements touted.


This Lamp was the pride and joy of serious collector with a very large collection. He paid over $2500 in the mid to late 80's


The cast bronze cherub base is just amazing true elegance no damage at all, hardly even wear this lamp in general has been loved and cared for its entire life. The chimney is era correct signed B & H Made USA see picture 9. Both shades are good but on both there are flea bites out of the flat part and on the very edges as they have been put on an off over the last 100+ yrs see pictures 6, 7, 8. On the side of the wick knob base is stamped a serial #. I would love to have known who this was made for and why, and who owned it in the Victorian era. 


This lamp was certainly a custom made lamp and likely the only one like it in existence, My guess is someone of extreme prominence or wealth had this done and are really the only people at the time who could have afforded to have had a lamp like this custom made, this was either given as a gift or was an extravagant piece made for someones home or business.


The entire lamp will be broken down and each piece packed and wrapped individually, Extra care WILL be taken during packing to ensure safe arrival to its next home, shipping reflect this. We have acquired a large collection of RETRO, VINTAGE, & ANTIQUE lamps and lighting.
