Moskvich-400 - Soviet car of the first group of small class, produced at the plant of small cars in Moscow ("ZMA", later - "MZMA") from December 1946 to 1954. The first mass passenger car sold in the USSR for individual use.
The design was identical to the Opel Kadett K38, produced in 1937-1940 in Germany by the company Adam Opel A.G., owned by the American concern General Motors. The device was recreated after the war on the basis of surviving specimens, as the original technical documentation was not preserved.
Moskvich-401 - an improved version, which was released from 1954 to 1956. In total, over the course of 10 years, 216,006 sedans and 17,742 cabriolets were produced. Retail selling price of "Moskvich-400" was 8,000 rubles, "Moskvich-401" - 9,000 rubles
