Himalayan Pink Salt is pure, hand-mined salt found naturally, deep within the the Khewra Salt Mines, the most well-known, largest and also the oldest Salt Mine in the "Salt Range". The Salt Range begins in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains in Northeast Pakistan and stretches across approximately 186 miles from the Jhelum River to the Indus River.Crystallized over 250 million years ago, ancient sea beds were covered by lava, protecting the salt from modern-day pollution. Himalayan Salt contains the same 84 trace minerals and elements that are found in the human body, a few of which include sodium chloride, sulphate, calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
The most natural form of salt you can get, this salt remains untouched by pollutants. Unlike Sea salt and Table salt, Pink Himalayan Salt has not come into contact with external chemicals and remains one of the purest forms of salt on earth. Coarse Salt is perfect for food use when ground.
Our Himalayan Salt is Food Grade and Packaged as follows: 100G, 250G, 500G, 1KG, 2KG, 5KG, 10KG (2 x 5KG), are all packed in a transparent Poly Bag. Our 25kg Bags are packed in a strong poly bag inside a stronger outer bag. Our salt is certified Organic, with the OF&G Organic Certification Body.
Please note: As Himalayan Salt is a natural product, the colours can vary from white/pale pink to deep pink/orange. This is in correlation to the iron content in the salt, the difference being parts per million. Due to the nature of Himalayan Salt, when dissolved in water there may be leftover residue which can cause a change in the colour of the water, this residue (often dark red/pink) comes from insoluble minerals, namely iron and silica, from the Salt. Although some of these minerals don’t fully dissolve in the water, they are bio-available (your body can absorb and use them) and are good for your health.
