What do the sizes mean? 
The lower the number, the finer the needle 
The higher the number the larger the needle
Most needle companies show both sizes on the package e.g: 4/8

So the finer your fabric, the finer the needle needed.



Quilting
(20 Needles - sizes 3/9, 5, 5/10, 8, 10 or 11)
Quilting sewing needles (aka Betweens Needles) are very short and fine with a round eye. Traditionally, used by tailors and professional sewers, but nowadays commonly used for quilting. The diameter of the needle is the same as a Sharps Needle, except that they are shorter in length, which allows the quilter to create quick and even stitching.

Easy Threading

(6 Needles - sizes 4/8)

Easy Threading Sewing Needles (also known as Calyx Eye Needles) have a slotted threading eye at the top for thread to pass through. They are designed for people who have difficulty threading ordinary sewing needles.


Sharps
If you decide to buy only one type of needle, it should be Sharps. Sharps are general purpose, medium-length needles and are the most commonly used hand sewing needles. They are also very sharp! (Available in sizes 1-12)

Tapestry

Tapestry Needles have a rounded blunt tip which enables the sewing needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. They can be used with wool, soft embroidery cotton, stranded cotton, on single point canvas, double point canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric.


Chenille

Chenille sewing needles are large eye needles and are identical to tapestry or Cross Stitch needles in length and diameter. 

However, the Chenille point is sharp rather than blunt and is used for crewel and ribbon embroidery.



We order new stock in this product every week, so if you need more than we have then please ask as we can order higher quantities for delivery.

UK POSTAGE:
For UK postage, we always send our items by Royal Mail 2nd class, however each of our listings has the option to upgrade to 1st class or 24 hour courier. Please note that a parcel can only delivered by courier within 24 hours if we receive the order by 11am. 
We always aim to send our parcels the same day if purchased by 1pm. 
We ship on Monday - Friday ONLY. 
Any orders placed between 1pm on a Friday and Midnight on a Sunday will be shipped on Monday.
This includes 1st class and 24 hour courier parcels
