Pair of Vintage 1960s English Lord Nelson Pottery Lidded Ironstone Tureens In Excellent Condition.

This dish was made after 1956 as crown was added to some of their marks in 1956 and the mark 2-65 below the back-stamp dates these tureens to exactly February 1965 so they are just over 50 years old.

Lord Nelson Pottery was a trade name used by Elijah Cotton Ltd. The original business was founded in 1758. Elijah Cotton opened a new factory 'Nelson Pottery' in 1886 and also took over 'The Victoria Works' - both in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
