An Antique French Champleve Enamel Globe Inkwell Stand.

An exquisite antique large French inkwell stand, dating from the mid to late 19th C.
This beautiful antique inkwell stands on a circular marble base. The base has a nicely cast etched rim with blue and white enamel insets. The globe is raised on a circular column. The inkwell is a handsome globe with two captive ring handles on either side. The top of the globe is decorated with a raised section; decorated in a similar fashion to the base and finished with a ball knop lift. The lid is firm on its three barrel hinge and opens to disclose the glass inkwell with brass top. The rim of the top is nicely engraved - Paris Liverpool -. The globe has a concealed heavy threading that passes through the column and marble base to secure the assembly on a square nut.
Dimensions: This inkwell stand measures 116cm in diameter and stands approx' 12cm tall.
Weight: 1407g's.
Condition: In good used antique condition. The inkwell stand is clean and free from any chips, cracks or repairs. There is no loss of enamel. There are minor age and use related surface marks and minor tarnish deposits to rebates. The internal surfaces have some marks from past ink splashes. The inkwell stand can been fully dismantled easily for cleaning etc. The glass well is intact.
