Ok, the guitar has been thoroughly cleaned, polished (including lemon oiling the fingerboard), restrung and set up. It now has a brand new set of hybrid 52-10 Martin Darco strings.

It truly is a thing of beauty and it sounds just like a Gretsch should.

I’ve added some new pictures (last 5) and I’ve also realised that the case is a Gretsch Deluxe model, which costs almost £200 on its own! The case is very clean and works perfectly, although there is some tarnishing of the gold plating.

The frets are in excellent shape, with almost no visible wear.
