NAMI-012 is a steam truck created in the USSR. It was developed in 1949 by the Scientific Automobile Institute (NAMI). The engine of the car worked on the wood. The project customers were the MGB and the Gulag. Developed as a production car, 3 cars were produced.
In 1935, a bureau of steam-powered units was created at the Scientific Tractor Institute (so-called NAMI). In 1936, a Doble car was tested there. In 1938, NAMI acquired the Sitinel S4 six-ton dump truck from the British firm Sentinel with a low pressure boiler for research. The car was fired with coal and, despite the huge consumption of coal, 152 kg per 100 km of track, and the need for a stoker, operation was profitable, since a liter of gasoline cost 95 kopecks and a kilogram of coal 4 kopecks.
The following year, the MP-28 steam-mobile vehicle was created on the YaG-6 chassis, which could operate on liquid fuel or anthracite. But he did not have time to build before the outbreak of war.
