Looking for oriental influences for your decoration? Then design your decorative objects with henna!
The technique of applying henna to objects is relatively new and arose from traditional henna tattoos on the skin. With this technique you can create relief motifs on many surfaces such as stone, glass, canvas, plastic, wood, cardboard, candles, fabric by filling in the henna paste, or make drawings in white by removing the paste again.
Decorate your objects with Arabic and oriental motifs!
Thats how it works:
Choose an item that you want to design.
Apply the paste and let it dry.
Optional:
Henna on canvas
Apply the henna directly to the canvas.
Henna on wood
You have two options here: a flat drawing or a relief drawing.
If you want a flat drawing, add some ammonia to the henna paste. So the motif will take on the mahogany brown or black color of the henna.
If you want a relief drawing, you'll definitely need to use varnish to hold the henna in place. Apply multiple coats, if necessary, and allow each coat to dry well.
With a flat drawing, the varnish is not a must: it depends on the effect you want to achieve.
Henna on fabric
Here the flat drawing is the only option.
Natural fabrics such as silk or cotton are preferable here.
You don't have to cover the henna with varnish or varnish, as the henna won't wash out.
Henna on candles
Only relief drawing is possible here.
Apply the henna paste to the candle.
There are two possible techniques for setting the henna in place:
