This is a Louis XV style frame. It was recently acquired in Paris, France where is spent it's entire life. There have been a few different pictures installed in this frame over it's life and it is ready for yours. This is not a copy or reproduction.


The frame appears to be gold leafed and it is approximately 6lbs. There is a bit of glue in one corner on the back where the most recent insert was removed this is a very old frame. It is made of wood plaster and gold leaf.


The most ebullient designs are embodied in the Louis XV style frame whit exuberant Rococo ornaments, swept sides and pierced carving all utilized to create frames of astonishing beauty and complexity. 


You will not find a better original real frame from the 19th century. Age is approximate inspection of item is welcomed and more pictures can be provided.
