Antique or Vintage French Saglier Frères Silver Plate, Ebony,

Tea and Coffee Service, Louis XIV Style, 4 pcs

This very handsome antique or vintage French silver plated tea and coffee service from the 1900’s-1930’s includes a coffee pot, a tea pot, a cream pitcher and a sugar bowl, all in the Louis XIV style. The handles are beautifully crafted in Makassar ebony and joined with a shell shaped attachment. The sinuous curves of the handles and spouts recall the “Art Nouveau” style, and, along with the elegant shape of the finials and levers on the  lids, add a very stylish touch to the ensemble. Each piece bears the maker’s mark of Saglier Frères. Saglier Frères were master silversmiths in Paris. Eugène and André Saglier were brothers who took over the business of their father, Victor Saglier, in the late 19th century. The maker’s mark consists of the letters “S” and “F” surrounding the image of a star placed above three other stars. There is a second mark indicating that the content of silver is 25 grams for the coffee and the tea pots, 15 grams for the sugar bowl and 10 grams for the cream pitcher. This service is in excellent condition with the exception of faint scratches due to age and normal use and a scratch underneath the spout of the cream pitcher. This set will add an elegant “French” touch to your tea or coffee table as well as a stylish addition to any collection. Items in Paris, France, are sent by registered mail via the French Post Office.

No questions asked return policy. Items must be returned in 14 business days. Item must be returned undamaged, in its original condition and packed, shipped, and insured in the same manner. Buyer pays return shipping and a 10% restocking fee.
