Moskvich-2150 is a Soviet passenger car of high cross-country capability, developed at the AZLK plant in Moscow in the early 1970s on the basis of the serial Moskvitch cars.

In the early seventies, after the creation of similar cars abroad, in the USSR at the state level, interest was revived in the creation of a compact and comfortable SUV. Within the framework of this project, several competing designs were created: at AvtoVAZ - the future VAZ-2121 "Niva", and on Izhmash - Izh-14.
At the newly renamed Moscow plant in 1973, the competitor Niva and Izh-14 was prepared on the basis of old developments of off-road vehicles M-415 and M-416. The prototype received the designation Moskvich-2150. Its modular part was unified with the model M-2140, planned at that time for production. Two prototypes M-2150 with a canvas and hard top were created. The Moscow SUV turned out to be excellent in concept from the "Niva", more close to the "classic" SUVs - with a separate spar frame, continuous bridges and rigid springs. In the competition of three factories, AvtoVAZ won, which managed to create the most comfortable and competitive in the world market, albeit a less "off-road" design.
However, the M-2150 was interested in the military. Formally, the Ministry of Defense was given a command to set up production for the production of 60,000 cars a year at the plant in the city of Kineshma, however, it was not financed.
