Item Description
Up for your consideration is a fine & unusual French amphora-form vase, c. 1870 - 1890. The vase is completely hand-painted, with a scene featuring a cherub with a woman with a peaked cap, on a celeste blue ground. The piece is unsigned, but guaranteed to be 19th C. French. It measures 9" tall x 5.5" wide. Because the base is amphora-form, it will require a base for it to stand upright.t
The piece is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some light wear to the body and the gilt commensurate with age and use, but nothing overt or distracting.
