Korg DW-8000 OS 13 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT

• OS 13 is the last known revision issued by Korg for the DW-8000.
• Included will be 1 new ATMEL EPROM chip, recently manufactured to ensure data integrity well past our natural lifetime.
• Given the age of the DW-8000, it is not uncommon for existing UV EPROM chips to have some form of bit rot, a major cause of data instability with vintage equipment of this era.

Keep in mind that the DW-8000 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM chip is.

Unlike some others, No used or refurbished as “new” components will be supplied here.

• This update resolves the sticking notes issue (where you’ll press a note and it will remain playing even when you are not holding the key anymore)

To verify the OS firmware revision:

• Power off, hold the 1 and 2 key and power on.
• The firmware revision will now be listed on the screen. If you’re still unsure after that, send me a message and I’ll see what can be done for you.

Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.

All EPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment and will be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
