Santoku is a kind of Japanese most popular home use knife.

In Meiji period, Japanese people began to eat meats. At the timing, Gyuto shaped knife came into Japanese knife line up from overseas. Santoku was bone at this period as a combined performance knife from Nakiri and Gyuto. "San toku" is meaning three kind of usage which is Meat, Fish, Vegetables.

Therefore, Santoku shaped knife has a very wider usage then most of Japanese family still using this.

I cleaned and sharpened up this knife by using whetstone. And now I'm highly satisfied with the blade condition.

The blade is enough sharp to use normally though.

I have tested the blade by cutting test paper after sharpened.

There may be some stain, rust or damage.  Please watch the pictures carefully.
