David White US Navy Sextant from 1943 along with its scope and wrench for making adjustments. The original screw drivers are missing.

The mirrors and filters are all present and properly mounted but all optical surfaces need proper cleaning. The larger mirror mount edges and back surface show some wear. The arm slides smoothly when released and holds firm when aligned. In general, the devices seems mechanical sound with no broken or missing parts. The telescope optics are clear, but again require proper cleaning, and the scope zooms smoothly.

The original inspection certificate, or at least a inspection certificate from 1943, is attached to the inside of the box but is discolored. It is this certificate that leads me to date it as being from 1943, but of course, this could be a reinspection certificate.

It comes in a wooden box - not sure what type of wood. The sextant clamping device functions properly. The box has some scratches but nothing deep and no bumps. In the top right corner of the box - facing the scope in one of the photographs,  is an empty slot for a spare mirror.
