Antonio Vallisnieri (Vallisneri) was a physician active in Padua as a chair at the University teaching and studying natural history and the philosophy of experimental medicine. This is a copy of his book examining various aspects of the natural world illustrated with various fold outs and the occasional in-text plate. Engravings of insects, plants and other examples from the natural world, wonderfully precise and detailed.  Foxing is present along with paper discoloration (please see photos). The top of the front board is split with some scuffing along the edges, front and back. There is pencil marking inside the front. A small hole at bottom back near spine is present along with some discoloration to the Vellum due to age. Fascinating book with amazing illustrations.
