John Fiske (Edmund Fiske Green) was a scholar and writer whose primary focus was on the topic of evolution. He was an instructor at Harvard, along with holding other posts, and wrote on history after his retirement. This particular tome has been panned by some and praised by others: it has some great illustrations and is certainly interesting reading. In very good condition, there is some fading to the leather and some age-appropriate paper discoloration. Tissue overlays intact, some with titles to the illustrations, others not and lots of in-text illustrations.
