1200mm Open Top Baseboard Module Kits
(please see separate listing for other size  kits)
Please Note: Legs are not supplied with these modules
choice of legs available on separate listing or on our shop

An open top baseboard can be a good choice over a fixed top baseboard if you require a layout that is not one dimensional. It allows for the construction of hills, mountains and other contours, or multi level layouts etc. You are then free to add your own top to parts, or all of  your layout, if required.
Please note: Photos 1 & 2 show a sliding traverser included in the baseboard kits. These can be added if required.
These kits are significantly cheaper than complete baseboards with  a top as they can be shipped more safely and at less cost then completed baseboards thus avoiding the expense and possibility of damage in transit. They require the minimum of construction with some very simple DIY including a comprehensive instruction sheet. All you need to supply is wood glue.
If ordering more than one kit they will be supplied drilled out and complete with joining coach bolts, nuts and washers.
They can be purchased as a single, stand alone frame (with or without legs), or can be built up in multiple frames of differing sizes to suit your own layout. The baseboards shown in the drop down menu in this listing are our standard 3 sizes and can be utilised for most layouts but we can make them in any size to your own requirements by sending us a diagram of what you require.
Don't forget if you require legs for your baseboards, we advise a pair every 1200mm.
All our baseboard module kits  are constructed using12mm MDF frames, 75mm deep. MDF is a very stable material unlike traditional baseboards which use softwood frames which are prone to warping. MDF hardly moves and our tension box design frame ensures it will never move. They are also well finished, unlike some laser cut kits which look really unattractive and flimsy.
Our boards are constructed with framing approx. every 300mm, length and width, drilled out with wiring holes giving an extremely stable structure. Modules are sanded down to 240 grit giving a really smooth finish.
Kits contain comprehensive instruction sheets for simple assembly, all you need is wood glue.

REMEMBER!  Orders are normally dispatched within 21 working days as all modules are made to order, however during busy periods this could be longer. Highlands & Islands please contact us for postal charges.

If you wish to order sizes other than those listed or have any other questions please message us or speak to Graham on 07940 129210

When ordering, if ordering more than one module please advise how they are to be connected (preferably with a diagram) and we will supply them ready drilled and with coach bolts, nuts and washers free of charge, and don't forget leg sets, (we recommend a leg every 1200mm).
We can also supply back scene boards complete with all fixings, ask us for a quotation.
We can supply and fit a range of alignment dowels and side catches. See our separate listing Baseboard Dowels & Catches
