swing on a hills hoist
hear Jason and the Argonauts on the radio
taste the warm school milk
smell the chook roasting on Christmas Day
remember the excitement of Saturday arvo pictures.

This fun-filled, nostalgic romp through daily life in the 1950s and 1960s recalls what it was like to be one of the baby boomer generation in Australia.

Inspired by the book Baby Boomersby Helen Townsend, The Baby Boomers Picture Show recreates the sensations, the thrills and the horrors of growing up in Australia during that period - the frenzy of rock'n'roll, the terrors of adolescence, cracker night, scooters, hoola hoops, Brylcreem.

A celebration of this country's immediate past, beginning in a period of innocence and moving into increasingly turbulent times.

A co-production of Film Australia and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation plus The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia.
