Microdermabrasion is a vacuum diamond tip exfoliation treatment to deeply remove dirt, oil, sebum and dead skin cells from the outer layer of the skin.
As we age our skin cells regeneration slows down and Microdermabrasion and exfoliating methods remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin to reveal a smoother, more radiant skin.
How often should I use the Microdermabrasion Kit:
Microdermabrasion is recommended in a series of treatments- once a week for up to 8 weeks or you can build up to 2 or 3 times a week as a skin maintenance for cleaner, clearer skin.
Microdermabrasion in a clinic can cost upwards of $100 per treatment and the inconvenience of travel time to appointments. Now you can do the treatments yourself, in the comfort of your own home and at a time that suits you- for the cost of less than ONE SINGLE salon treatment!
Other areas of the body can be treated 2-3 times a week, for example, stomach, neck, chest thighs and hands.
Will it hurt:
No.Treatment should not be painful. Depending on the sensitivity of your skin, you may feel slight discomfort from the diamond tip as it moves across your skin and there could be some short term redness or sensitivity after the treatment, but this will soon subside.
If treatment is painful or uncomfortable you may need to use a lower setting or switch to the sensitive diamond tip.The settings have 4 options to cater for sensitive skins through to thick and tolerant skin conditions.
Can I use the product in combination with anti-aging creams/serums:
If your creams or serums contain AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) or a Retin-A (Vitamin A) then it should not be used in the same day as the microdermabrasion treatment, but it can be used on non-treatment days. Any 'active' serums or creams that contain AHA's, Vitamin A or others should not be recommenced until the skin sensitivity has returned to normal. In some cases this can be 24-48 hours.
All other creams and oils are fine to use directly after Microdermabrasion.
SPF 30+ (for the face) is recommended following Microdermabrasion if you are going into the elements as you may be more susceptible to the sun.
Microdermabrasion is NOT recommended if you have the following:
Lesions, warts or recent herpes outbreak
Sunburn or cold sores
Active Rosacea
Auto-immune disorders
Skin cancer
Vascular lesions in the area being treated
Any open wounds, sores or cuts
Ro-acutanne in last 6 months
