REMBRANDT RE-STRIKE: SIX'S BRIDGE

Rembrandt. "Six's Bridge." Etching on off-white, wove paper, 5 1/8" x 8 3/4" (plate line), 5 1/2" x 9 1/8" (sheet, sight), signed and dated ("1645") within the plate, lower right. The sheet is apparently laid down (dry-mounted) across its surface on a thin card backing; the pulp-filled front board is laid down on the backboard (verso-to-recto) and, apparently, on the sheet, with adhesive (glue, paste, two-sided tape, other); a faint 3/4" scratch to the sheet's center right edge. Matted dimensions, 9 1/2" x 13"; we cannot guess what the sheet dimensions are. Matted (as described); unframed. Modern re-strike from the steel-faced plate.
