Up for your consideration an important and rare presentation Imperial
Russian sterling silver watch made by famous watch maker Louis William Gabus (Луи
Вильям Габю) with original key and original box. . That is the award watch depicting
the portrait of Russian Tsar Alexander lll (1845-1994). Fully marked with 84
silver mark, standing bear and numbers on the case. Movement is 32mm starts and
holds on its own with a few turns, keeps time very well. Excellent antique condition
– no damages.

Louis William Gabus was born in the Swiss village of Le
Locle in 1847. His parents were already watchmakers at the time (Louis Gabus
and Heloise Jeanneret Gris), when he moved to Russia at the age of 20. William
Gabu begins his watch business in Moscow by establishing the Trade House
"V.GABYU." It is this firm that in time will become one of the three
largest watch companies in Russia (all the way with the trading house of Pavel
Bure and also Henry Moser) that undoubtedly, worthy of respect. Later watches
of this brand took gold medals in Chicago, Paris and Milan.
