These Skirting sides are generally in the 12-14 oz. range, but there are some lighter areas that might fall off in thickness by 3 oz. or more. This is a tannery run selection and there could be some brands, scratches, flesh cuts and scuffs on these sides, but generally the selection is good enough for saddlery, straps, rifle cases, the list goes on. These sides are buffed on the flesh side to make them more usable with the flesh side out. The natural russet color should take a stain well and the temper is firm, but flexible enough to work with. The length is about 6.5-7 feet and generally 6-8" longer at the longest point and the width is about 3.25 ft. + or - 1/2 foot and narrower up in the neck area.
