These rare Vintage Chinese beads are carved from hardwood wood and adorned with The double Shou or Longevity Symbols! These beads measure approximately 11mm size. The detail in the carving of these beads is just exquisite.
The color is a very dark deep reddish to black brown. I believe that they are waxed to protect the wood and the wax stain is darker than the natural wood so there is a slight variation of the color from some lighter to deep dark rich color. These are the size of the smaller pit beads that were used in the imperial court necklaces but they are not seeds they are wood. They would be amazing for a restoration project of a court necklace though!
