Antique American sterling silver snuff box made by Wendt c. 1870. It is 2 3/4" long, 1 5/8" wide, 3/4" tall, weighing 70 grams or 2.25 ozs Troy. 

There is a minor repair on the lid. Inscribed "S. J. Broadwell" on the top.

The excellent original condition having use mark consistent with age, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. 

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
