- This upgrade version v2.6u is final known operating system firmware issued by Roland for the Alpha Juno-1.

- All EPROM upgrade chips supplied here are brand new, recently manufactured and sourced direct from ATMEL to ensure data integrity well past our natural lifetime.
Please keep in mind that the Alpha Juno-1 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM upgrade chip will be supplied.
Before purchasing, it is best to check if your Alpha Juno-1’s OS ROM is socketed or soldered direct to the PCB. Certain hardware revisions come this way and will subsequently require solder rework experience to perform this upgrade.
- Upgrade notes from Roland (in all its broken-English glory):
- Increase the resolution of a transmitted MIDI data “Pitch Bender Change” from 9 to 14 bits.
- Correct LCD display error showing “successive TUNE/FUNC or MIDI writing” against MEMORY PROTECT.
- Change MIDI exclusive receiving routine to relieve one JU-1 from: being its certain functions, expect keyboard play will be disturbed by a received exclusive message including TONE NAME sent from the other JU-1.
- Corrected issue where and if the alpha-DIAL is turned way past an “extreme” range that is displayed in TONE MODIFY mode, turning the dial back does not allow the display to keep track of the actual correct returned value. This update aims to resolve this issue.

Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.
All EPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment and will be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
