Gütermann Top Stitch Thread is the best quality sewing thread that you can buy.  It is made from 100% polyester and has been made in Germany for over 150 years. 

This thread is ideal for ornamental stitches, decorative seams and backstitch seams. It can be used for hand sewing buttonholes. It has a silk like gloss and is soft and subtle to work with.

Gütermann Top Stitch thread is abrasion resistant, extendible, light-resistant and colour-fast. 

It is recommended to use a needle size of 100-120 (being a more heavier duty needle with a larger eye). It can be washed safely up to a 95 degree wash and can be dry cleaned. It is possible to use a non-chlorine bleach and it can withstand a high heat tumble dry. You are able to also use a hot iron with a maximum of 200 degrees.

A refined manufacturing process makes this thread wonderful to sew with for a huge variety of jobs including hand sewing and machine sewing. Top Stitch Thread is ideal for decorative top stitching and for items such as jeans or heavier fabrics. It can also double as a stronger thread for button holes. It is strong, washes well at 40 degrees and has been made to OEKO-TEX STANDARD® 100.

Please Note: For the purpose of finding your thread easily, we have given each colour our own name. This is not the 'official' colour name, but simply a name which we feel represents our interpretation of the colour.

Shipping Information
UK POSTAGE:
For UK postage, we always send our items by Royal Mail 2nd class, however each of our listings has the option to upgrade to 1st class or 24 hour courier. Please note that a parcel can only delivered by courier within 24 hours if we receive the order by 11am. 
We always aim to send our parcels the same day if purchased by 1pm. 
We ship on Monday - Friday ONLY. 
Any orders placed between 1pm on a Friday and Midnight on a Sunday will be shipped on Monday.
This includes 1st class and 24 hour courier parcels
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
We ship internationally to Europe, the United States of America, Canada and Australia. Please see our list of excluded postage locations by clicking 'see details' in the international postage section underneath the purchase buttons. 
All of our items are sent by Royal Mail unless they reach a certain size, then we may choose to put them on a courier.
