We love our little Teak plates here at R&P, and this one faithfully recreates the shape of a pear right down to the stalk. Great for serving cake slices, cupcakes, cookies or fruit -these plates are best bought in sets to serve a group of guests or family members. The shape is carefully cut out from selected small pieces of Teak, and the face is carved to a balanced concave shape while the back is undercut to make the piece seem to float over the surface on which it is placed. The top and bottom surfaces meet in a fine lip which our skilled craftsmen produce with ease, while ensuring the subtleties of the pear shape is not lost. The final touches are the addition of the stalk, which is a separate piece od wood glued into place, and the super fine sanding and application of food grade mineral oil.
