The Cars were an American rock band formed in Boston in 1976. Emerging from the new wave scene in the late 1970's and were at the forefront in merging 1970s guitar-oriented rock with the new synthesizer-oriented pop that was then becoming popular in the 1980's. 

Greatest Hits is a compilation album  released in October 1985 on Elektra Records. "Tonight She Comes", a previously unreleased song, and a remix of "I'm Not the One" were issued as singles to support this greatest hits package. Also contain the hits, Drive and Shake It Up. The album was a commercial success, going six-times platinum!
