ITEM DESCRIPTION
Item Description
Up for your consideration is a fine 16th century Italian Renaissance carved walnut credenza/table, c. 1575. The piece is likely Northern Italian (Emilian), and features a central door with thick, carved fish scale legs. The table is ready for immediate use.
The table is sturdy, and retains its original finish. It is possible that there are some old restorations, but the table is essentially complete and original. The table top is level, but two legs are slightly warped inwards, likely from normal aging/drying of the wood.
The piece measures 27" tall, 31" wide, and 19" deep. It is heavy for its size, weighing about 65 lbs.
Provenance: Property from the Estate of Ernest Eastman Leavitt, Boston, Massachusetts
