LTA-8 - NASA APOLLO LUNAR MODULE TEST PROGRAM - ORIGINAL AB Emblem  4 7/8"  SPACE PATCH

LTA-8 - NASA Apollo Lunar Module test program

"The LTA-8 test project, run in the spring and fall of 1968, placed a test version of Grumman's Apollo Lunar Module (Lunar Module Test Article 8) inside the giant
vacuum chamber B at NASA's Johnson Space Center to replicate the extreme environmental conditions the spacecraft would be subjected to in space.

The mission patch includes the names of astronauts assigned to the first test run:  Jim Irwin and John Bull.

A-B Emblem has been the sole supplier of mission patches to the astronaut’s office at NASA since the 70s, from the original NASA “meatball” patch to Artemis and every mission patch in between.

Our NC-made patches have been to the moon, orbited the Earth, and are soon headed to Mars!
