This is a pair of tall, beautiful, antique, Victorian brass or bronze andirons.  They have large and small flame motif finials, wrapped ribbon detailing, little lion feet, suns, leaves and beading.  They are well cast with nice clean, clear details that have been only slightly softened by years of polishing.

Their condition overall is very good.  There are some spots of tarnish or places with polish in the design but over all they have a lovely old patina.  I have not attempted to clean them so as not to ruin that patina, but I imagine they might also look nice polished up to a high shine.  The back part that the logs rest on is made out of what appears to be wrought iron.  This can be swiveled if you loosen the bolt, which is nice so you can change the angle depending on the length of the logs.

I am also separately listing a pair of flame motif fire dogs that compliment these andirons very well, and the fire tools that I bought at the same estate auction.

20 1/4” High x 8 3/4” Wide x 16 1/2” Deep

Each andiron weighs 7 1/2 pounds.

Unless otherwise stated, I ship Priority USPS mail with tracking and insurance for the full amount paid with extensive (usually recycled) packaging.  In this case it might be less expensive to ship the package by FedEx, especially if you live far from the East coast.  Please let me know if you would like me to look into that.  (It doesn't calculate properly on eBay, so I have to do it myself.  Please send your whole address if you want me to look into it.)
