Raphael Meldola was a British chemist and entomologist. This is work on the chemical processes involved in developing photographs and is from the library of A.L. Colton, who served as assistant astronomer at the Lick Observatory from 1892-1897. In very good condition, there are several small in-text illustrations demonstrating various processes used in film as well as a complete index of “authors quoted” and “subjects referred to” and eighteen pages of advertising at the rear including a catalog of Macmillan’s offerings and several different types of equipment from various photo supply stores in London. In very good condition, this is a scientific work with parts taken from Dr. Meldola’s lectures.
